You are not paying for the data. The data is free. Star Citizen ship stats and live prices come from the game files and the community. Premium pays for the H.U.D Manager overlay: the part that opens those pages in your cockpit, live, without leaving the game.

What do I get for free?
The whole website and all its tools, always. The overlay is free too: after your trial you keep Ship Loadout Bay, Trade, Media and the Pilot Portal, one window at a time, plus loadout save and sync. You need a free pilot account to use the overlay, and that is also what starts your trial. No credit card.
What does Premium add?
Every other panel (Combat Sim, Showdown, Compare, Missions, Blueprints, Logbook, Crafting, Wikelo, Starmap, Mining, Salvage and more), head tracking, voice recognition, log tracking and Live State, several windows at once, and the in-game browser, so you can open Erkul, UEX, Reddit or any site right over Star Citizen with no tabbing out.
How does the free trial work?
Create your free pilot account and you get 14 days of full Premium, with no credit card. When it ends you drop to the free Basic overlay, and nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe. Premium is $1.99 for your first month, then $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year.
Will the overlay get me banned? Is it EAC-safe?
No. H.U.D Manager is a read-only companion overlay. It shows your own data and public game information on top of the screen. It never injects into the game, automates input or touches game memory, and it does not interfere with Easy Anti-Cheat.
I am an early pilot. What is the Founding Member deal?
If your account was created before the freemium launch, you keep Premium free for life, automatically. Sign in to confirm it is applied. It is our thank-you for flying with us early.
